'The art of the people is a true mirror into their minds'

Art is an expression of life! through the eyes of the directors, producers and cast at the National Theatre of Wales, they promise to showcase a performance that demonstrates one of the living crisis of our time - the cost of living!

Sometimes, art can depict a world that we don't belong to, but that's what the power of performance can do isn't it? Transport you into another dimension, where it is possible to fantasises about living in a beautiful castle, in a distant land, or re- visit days gone by. But this production is meant to unite, to evoke a sense of togetherness, as we all go through what has been termed as the biggest living crisis of the century. Whilst the cost of food, energy and transport has risen, which are core principles to our basic needs. Clothes and other items seem to remain the same. So what on earth is going on? According to, health.org, the cost of living is dangerous to our health in ways that can lead to death. Being unable to buy food leaves people at risk of being malnourished, being unable to afford to put the heating on, can lead to respiratory diseases.

This current situation sweeping the UK, could essentially lead to more and more people needing to access emergency services and other health care provider. The cost of living is a national emergency. But what can us common folk, do about it? Well we could protest, we could bombard our local councillors or we could refuse to pay for things such as water. There are many things we can do, but one thing for sure is, to have impact we have to stand together. The National Theatre of Wales, are taking a stand, by creating a piece of art, that speaks to all of us, and unites us in our frustration. The production is set to help us to understand what is going on, and to help us gain confidence is speaking out.
