Loren Henry - In Recognition

Updated: Jun 26

Loren Henry founded Urban Circle Productions in 2006 (as they were known then) with a friend, who wanted to help young people in the local community, engaging and empowering them through the arts. UCP started off in an internet cafe and over a decade later with a fully established working team, developed into a charity and are one of the biggest youth initiatives outside of council-led projects in South Wales. Loren has her roots firmly planted in her Jamaican heritage and introduced the first Reggae and Riddim festival in Newport in 2022.

Reggae and Riddim is more that a festival. Reggae & Riddim is an exploration of our youth work values and principles and applying it to connecting local and international collaboration. This is a flagship project for the team of professionals at Urban Circle and we look forward to welcoming everyone to our next sharing in July 2024.

Reggae & Riddim Festival, is an international project of cultural reciprocity and repair.
